Electric Bikes Buying Guide
When choosing an electric bike, understanding your own needs is key. Each rider has different scenarios and pain points, and knowing which features are most important to you will help you make a better decision. Below are some common use cases and pain points, which will guide you to identify the features you need and select the right Fucare electric bike.
What do you mainly want to use the ebike for?
Yes, you've decided to buy an electric bike, but first, you need to be clear about what you want. Are you planning to use it for commuting, or for weekend adventures? Is your riding surface flat or rugged? What’s your expected daily riding distance? Do you live in an apartment or a house? Do you have enough space to store the bike? What’s your height and weight? Do you have any preferences for the bike's appearance? All of these factors will determine whether an electric bike is suitable for you.
If you're primarily using the bike for daily city commuting, you'll want something that's quick and easy to ride. Key features to focus on: battery range (enough to cover your daily commute), throttle function (to quickly accelerate from traffic lights), and responsive brakes (to handle the complexities of urban riding environments).
While this might sound a bit self-promotional, I’ll say that all Fucare models are great for daily city commuting. The 750W motor provides strong but manageable power, and the 40-mile range ensures you can easily complete your daily commute without worrying about running out of power.
All Fucare bikes come equipped with throttle and hydraulic brakes, ensuring you can quickly accelerate and stop as needed.
If your riding terrain has some bumps and uneven surfaces, you might want to check out the Libra, which comes with full suspension, making it perfect for city commutes on less-than-ideal roads.
By the way, for city commuting, you should also consider your commute method. Are you planning to ride directly to your office, or do you need to switch to a subway or bus? If it’s the latter, you’ll want a lightweight, foldable bike.
For long-distance rides or weekend trips, you'll need a bike with a solid range, higher power, and a stable ride. Riders often struggle with battery life during long rides, and performance becomes an issue on hills or over long distances.
Gemini X and Gemini are perfect for long-distance rides. These models come with a dual battery system, offering a 50-100 mile range, so you won’t have to worry about running out of power.
These two models can also be upgraded to a dual-motor version, which offers more acceleration and better hill-climbing ability.
If you’re looking for a bike for casual rides or light off-roading, comfort and stability are key. Uncomfortable rides on rough terrain or trails can ruin the experience for leisure riders.
Scorpio and Taurus are perfect for leisure and light off-roading. The full suspension on the Scorpio and fat tires on the Taurus allow for better shock absorption, ensuring a smooth ride on uneven terrain. The Taurus is also equipped with 26” fat tires, which provide added stability on rocky or sandy trails.
What are your preferences for the bike’s appearance?
Electric bikes come in different styles—some lean more towards traditional bicycles, while others have a motorcycle-like design. Fucare's overall design follows a more traditional bike style, but with a frame structure that’s designed to increase stability and safety, which also gives it a unique look with a strong industrial feel.
Based on feedback from some of our users, this frame design is perfect for maintenance and DIY projects.
PS: I personally think the Libra has the most traditional look.
Do You Have Storage Space?
If you have your own garage or a dedicated bike storage area in your apartment, then you can choose a bike based on your personal preferences without worrying too much about the bike’s weight. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you go for a heavier bike, detachable batteries are a must.
However, if you need to carry the bike upstairs, you’ll want to go for a lighter model. Ideally, a foldable one. Fucare doesn’t offer foldable models, as we prioritize stability and safety, which makes the bike frame heavier. It can be quite difficult for one person to carry a Fucare bike up the stairs.

What are Electric Bikes?
Electric bikes, also known as e-bikes, are bikes equipped with an electric motor that delivers a power boost for effortlessly climbing hills, passing slow-moving traffic, and riding long distances.
Riding an electric bike is the same as riding a traditional bike. The main difference is having the option to receive different levels of powered assist from the motor to make pedaling easier, or rely solely on the throttle to propel the bike for you without needing to pedal.
In the United States, the Consumer Product Safety Act defines 3 different e-bikes classes:
- Class 1 ebike relies solely on pedal assist, with the motor aiding up to 20 mph.
- Class 2 ebike offers both pedal assist and a throttle, maintaining support until 20 mph.
- Class 3 ebike relies on pedal assist but extends its assistance up to 28 mph.
Fucare Bike makes Class 2 electric bikes, combining pedal assist and throttle for a versatile riding experience. But the Scorpio Model can ride as technically a Class 3 e-bike. For riders familiar with their local e-bike regulations, the Fucare Scorpio model offers the potential to unleash an exhilarating 28 mph with a simple configuration adjustment.
